What I'm up to - July 2025
Here's my monthly newsletter about what I'm up to, which I send in place of social media.
What I did in last month
- I wrote a post about open-sourcing Postcard. The post got picked up by Hacker News and Google Discover, drawing 46k readers.
- Continued recovering from my bike accident, which included a week of having my jaw immobilized. Queue Kanye's "Through the Wire_". _
- Saw an early screening of "Sorry, baby" hosted by the director. It was well-done and had a comedy style that reminded me of Fleabag.
- Made a video for work: "5 Things to know about Chroma Cloud"
Things to share
- Articles : "Policing has little effect on SF traffic deaths, decades of data show" substantiated my old essay "Engineering over enforcement." Flounder Mode was a good read. Duolingo teaches Chess now. Berkshire Hathaway now pays 5% of US corporate income taxes.
- Tools: Claude Codeseems to be crossing from hobbyist to professional tool. (Though, its leaders just jumped ship to Cursor.)
- Books : Finished Abundance, which lays a clear blueprint for the Democratic Party - whether or not they choose to follow it.
Plans for the next month
- Building a lot with Chroma
- Quick trip to Illinois
- Entertaining
- Eating some good food
